Kristen Fahrig � Artist Statement

�Nathan Phillips Square becomes a �playground of the gods� during WinterCity 2010. Two colourful gods, forces of nature, welcome us to the festival and encourage us to toss away our winter blues. The Fire God dances in ecstasy a spiral dance that is as ancient as the fossils, while the Ice Goddess brings us out of our winter hibernation to look in wonder at the exquisite crystalline structure of snow. As we enter the square along the Peace Garden our pathway is lined by Doric Columns reflecting the modern beauty of our own Toronto City Hall.�
