City of Toronto WinterCity Festival 2010
Fifty banners reflecting the themes of the festival - Fire, Ice and Winter Carnivals from around the world, bring colour and light into this mid-winter festival.
Artist Statement
'Nathan Phillips Square becomes a 'playground of the gods' during WinterCity 2010. Two colourful gods, forces of nature, welcome us to the festival and encourage us to toss away our winter blues. The Fire God dances in ecstasy a spiral dance that is as ancient as the fossils, while the Ice Goddess brings us out of our winter hibernation to look in wonder at the exquisite crystalline structure of snow. As we enter the square along the Peace Garden our pathway is lined by Doric Columns reflecting the modern beauty of our own Toronto City Hall.'

Harbourfront Centre Luminat'eau Festival - June 2008
Luminato became 'Luminat'eau when Harbourfront Centre held a four-day festival celebrating Water in all its forms.
The Lake Spirit sculpture represented the immense power of the Great Lakes. Standing on the shore of Lake Ontario, she gazed out over the Lake her arms up stretched, holding a large vessel of water. The Lake Lake Spirit was the centre piece of a community performance, the finale of the festival that celebrated our interconnection through water and gave a mythical voice to each one of these ancient lakes.

Kristen Fahrig has made numerous installations, from a Canada Day "extravaganza" cruise boat or a fiery, delectable window display for the Hot & Spicy Food Festival to the foyer of the Toronto Stock Exchange.
