Urban Infusion ( 2003 )
Kristen was asked to implement a project focused on at-risk youth in the Parkdale/Dufferin area. With consultation, a project was designed that aimed to bring young people who were out of school and/or in trouble with the law, together with high school and college students as well as professionals to promote a cross pollination of ideas and a broadening of options. Youth developed themes in response to their urban experience, and created ewearable art' fashions in a makeshift studio at the Dufferin Mall. This explosion of diverse work and creative experimentation was presented in a fashion show and exhibit at the Dufferin Mall. John Brotman, Executive Director of the Ontario Arts Council gave the opening remarks at the Urban Infusion Fashion Show.

Participants: Dufferin Mall Youth Services, Neighbourhood Youth, students from Parkdale Collegiate, Ryerson University Fashion Design, Academy of Design Esthetics, George Brown College Theatre, and York University teacher candidates
